The goal of IRON BREWER is to get homebrewers thinking creatively, stepping out side of their comfort zone, and most importantly inspiring other people to start or further their own homebrewing. So without further adieu, meet Round 1 Iron Brewer, Chris Hillman!
Here is Chris’s bio:

I’m a 36 year old systems engineer living in Boise, Idaho. My first fermenting experience was making mead and extract beers when I was in the Navy in 1994. I gave up ‘home brewing’ when I got stationed on a submarine. I spent about 13 years away from the hobby, and started brewing beer again about 2 years ago. I did 2 extract batches before making the move to all grain. I’ve brewed about 20 all-grain batches in the past 2 years, and won a couple of awards in a local competition last year. I built a single-tier HERMS rig early this year and it has been a joy to brew on. Iron Brewer round one will be the 5th batch on the new rig.
My favorite styles are probably American & English pale ales & IPAs, though I try to brew a variety of styles to expand my horizons.
I’m studying to take the BJCP exam in July, and learning a lot in the process.
Welcome Chris and Good Luck!
